Vicuña

Vicuña's thermal performance has little to do with weight: the fiber is warmer than a comparable measure of cashmere while remaining fine enough that a garment made from it barely registers on the body. Among the rarest materials in Loro Piana's range, it appears both in its purest form and blended with Baby Cashmere for added softness, and is sometimes treated with wind- and rain-resistant technologies such as Storm System® for jackets, and coats built to handle real weather without sacrificing the fiber's essential lightness. Knitwear in vicuña carries the same rarity through to the hand, where the quality is felt as directly as it is seen. Very few materials achieve this specific combination: substantial warmth, negligible weight, genuine protection.
